CNY SPCA
A quality image makes the difference in motivating someone to come meet an animal in person.
However, understaffed shelters often do not have the time or money to take high-quality photos of their cats and dogs. Shelters often use intake photos of animals on their adoption profiles, which are typically poorly lit, low-quality, and display the animal in a frightened and vulnerable state.
So, we set out to help our local animal shelter improve their adoption profiles and, thus, adoption rates. I took high-quality photos while my best friend and copywriter, Emily Bright, wrote personality profiles on the animals. The staff at CNY SPCA were incredible and thrilled to have the help.
I love animals and dreamed of being a veterinarian as a kid. I ultimately didn’t have the scientific skill set to pursue this career, so using the skills I do have to help animals in need is my version of accomplishing this dream :)

Meet Diesel!
Diesel is a very handsome 4-year-old pup whose fashion sense involves a hint of vintage fabrics mixed with warm brown tones, paired with a white turtleneck underneath (as seen from his sleek fur coat). During the day, Diesel loves to hit the town and explore all the dog parks. His favorite evening pastime is sitting on the couch with a glass of wine, watching Dancing with the Stars, and having his best human friend scratch his soft, velvety ears. His mellow and sweet disposition makes him the perfect companion for a family with children. Throw him a chicken-flavored bone and Diesel will automatically be your best friend.
Meet Leah!
This 5-year-old sassy female is ready to find her new human forever best friend. Her ocean blue-green eyes will steal your heart, and her playful soul will keep you younger forever. One look at her and you’ll never be able to forget her adorable face. Leah’s definitely a talker, and her meow speaks a million words. She is very protective of her area and knows she’s the boss, so she’s looking for a home that she can call her own. She’s especially good at posing for photos, and she lives to sit perched on a cat tree and survey her environment. Adopt Leah today to find the fuzziest friend, playmate, and conversationalist.
Meet Stitch!
Stitch is a 3-year-old Pit Lab mix who loves long walks on the beach and sipping piña coladas in the rain (ok, maybe just the long walks part). His chocolate-brown coat matched with pink and white fur accents make him stylish yet relaxed, and he’ll be the star of the show at any dog park that he graces his presence at. Stitch’s mushroom-shaped nose is great for sniffing and kisses, and his most important goal in life is being the goodest boy around. There’s no feeling that Stitch relishes more than the smile of his best human friend after the end of a long day, and Stitch is very proud of his loyal nature. His owner unfortunately passed away recently, and now Stitch needs a new loving and nurturing home.
Meet Leo!
This 4-year-old, long-haired feline is looking for a human to love him and brush his hair. Leo may seem a bit quiet at first, but give him a sniff of you and he’ll be all over you before you know it. Leo will do anything for attention, which isn’t hard for him considering his long, luscious coat is a show-stopper. Leo’s markings are one-of-a-kind, and his striped face gives him a sense of fierceness and pride, which we see reflected in his character. His strong yet gentle disposition makes him the perfect cat for families!
Meet Tanner!
A golden, sun-kissed furball with the heart of an angel and the paws of a warrior, you’ll never find a smile bigger than Tanner’s. Tanner’s a 1 ½ year old Pug Pit mix who’s ready to find a human who loves to grin ear to ear as much as he does. One of Tanner’s greatest strengths is car rides, and he relishes the feeling of the wind whipping his ears and sticking his tongue out for the world to see. He’s very good at tricks (some might say he’s a seasoned magician), and his tail can wag faster than anyone’s (try him). There’s never not a smile on this little ball of fire’s face, and Tanner’s looking forward to snuggles, laughs, and silly moments with a new loving human.
